On March 16 2006, President Hu Jintao of the People's Republic of China announced the appointment of new ambassadors in accordance with a decision made by the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress.

Mr. Xie Hangsheng was appointed the new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the Kingdom of Denmark, replacing Mr. Zhen Jianguo.
