1.Brief Introduction of Chinese Visa Categories

l       Tourist Visa(L): for sightseeing, visiting family or friends.

l       Business Visa(F): for business trips invited by Chinese partners or trainees to stay in China for less than 6 months.

l       Student Visa(X): for aliens studying in China for more than 6 months.

l       Employment Visa(Z): for employed aliens who will work in China for more than 6 months.

l       Transit Visa(G): for aliens who transit in China to other countries or regions.

l       Journalist Visa(J): for journalists.

l       Residence Visa(D): for aliens intending to reside in China permanently.

l       Visas C: for Train Attendants, Air Crew Members and Seamen.

l       Diplomatic or Service Visa: for diplomatic or official passport holders.

2.Tourist Visa(L-Visa)

Tourist visas are generally issued to applicants who intend to visit China for sightseeing, visiting family or friends.

(1)Requirements:

l       One completely filled-out Visa Application Form

l       One recent passport-size photo. Please stick the photo to the application form.

l       Original passport with at least 2 blank visa pages.

l       Return Air tickets

l       Hotel reservations in China(for visiting families, certificate of marriage or kindred is required)

 

(2)The following applicants may apply for multi-entry L visas:

l       Applicant born in China with the record of visits to China for at least twice in the past year: copy of the record of visits required.

l       Applicant who owns a property in China: copy of certificate of property required.

l       Applicant born in China needs to visit China frequently for health care: certificate of a doctor required.

l       Applicant whose spouse, children or parents reside in China: copy of certificate of marriage or kindred required; invitation letter

l       Applicant with a record of multi-entry L visas: copy of multi-entry L visas required.

l       Other applicants who were born in China intend to visit China frequently: necessary supporting document required.

3.Business Visa(F-Visa)

Business visas are generally issued to applicants who intend to take business trips to China and will stay in China for less than 6 months.

(1)Requirements:

l       One completely filled-out Visa Application Form

l       One recent passport-size photo. Please stick the photo to the application form.

l       Original passport with at least 2 blank visa pages

l       An Invitation Form from Chinese Authorities and an invitation letter from the relevant Chinese governmental departments, relevant companies, business entities or non-profit governmental organizations

l       Return Air tickets

l       Hotel reservations in China

 

(2)The following applicants may apply for a multiple-entry F-visa valid for 6 months or 12 months, and the relevant supporting documents should also be submitted:

l       Applicant who intends to visit China frequently on business purposes: a letter from his or her company and the host company in China are required to prove that the applicant will visit China frequently within one year.

l       Applicant who has had a multi-entry visa: copy of multi-entry visa and entry record required.

 

(3)The following applicants may apply a multiple-entry F-visa valid for 24 months, and the relevant supporting documents should also be submitted:

l       Applicant who has had the record of visits to China at least twice with business visa (F visa) in the past year and has a formal letter from his or her company to prove that he or

she will visit China frequently on business purposes: copies of business visas,entry records, and the formal letter from the company required.

l       Applicant who invests in China: copy of the business registration or relevant business permit with the applicant's name required.

l       Applicant who has the record of multi-entry business visa: copy of the visa required.

NOTES:

l       Original passport should be valid at least 30 months beyond the date of application.

l       It will take 4 working days to process the visa. There is no the same day or next day pickup service for applicants of multiple-entry F-visas valid for 24 months.

l       Multiple-entry F-visas valid for 24 months can only be applied for in the nationality country of the applicants. We only issue Multiple-entry F-visas valid for 24 months to Danish citizens.

4.Student Visa(X-Visa)

Student visas are generally issued to applicants who intend to study in China for more than 6 months.

 

Requirements:

l       One completely filled-out Visa Application Form

l       One recent passport-size photo. Please stick the photo to the application form.

l       Original passport with at least 2 blank visa pages.

l       Original and copy of visa application form for international students (JW-202) issued by the Ministry of Education of China, and  notification of admission from the receiving school with the seal of the said ministry are required.

l       A Physical Examination Record for Foreigner (Q-2) filled out and signed by a doctor.

l       Aliens holding X-visas shall, within 30 days of entry into China, obtain aliens' residence permits from the Public Security Bureau at their residing local places. Otherwise, aliens may be fined, detained or even ordered to leave the

country within a specific time period.

5.Employment/work Visa(Z-Visa)

Employment Visas are generally issued to applicants who are employed to work in China for more than 6 months and who intend to do business in China.

 

Requirements:

l       One completely filled-out Visa Application Form

l       One recent passport-size photo. Please stick the photo to the application form.

l       Original passport with at least 2 blank visa pages.

l       An invitation letter or telegram from the relevant department of the Chinese Government or Government-authorized company.

l       Original and copy of Foreign Experts Working Permit issued by the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affaris, or orginal and copy of Alien Employment License issued by the Ministry of Labour and Social Security, or other relevant permit of employment.

l       The spouse or children of the Z-visa applicant who accompany the applicant to stay in China are required to be listed in the above-mentioned invitation letter or telegram. Otherwise, original and copy of Marriage Certificate or Birth Certificate to prove their relationship are also required.

l       A Physical Examination Record for Foreigner (Q-2) filled out and signed by a doctor.

 

NOTES: Z-visa is generally valid for 3 months. Applicants should apply for a residence permit from a local county-level Public Security Bureau within 30 days after entering China.

6.Transit Visa(G-Visa)

Transit visas are generally issued to applicants who intend to transit to another country or region via China.

 

Requirements:

l       One completely filled out Visa Application Form. 

l       One recent passport-size photo. Please stick the photo to the application form.

l       Original passport with at least 2 blank visa pages.

l       A valid visa from the destination country (region) and connecting tickets are required.

NOTES:

l       G-visas are generally good for one or two entries.

l       Australian, New Zealand, American, Canadian, South Korean,

German, French, Dutch, Luxemburg, Belgian, Portuguese,              Spanish, Italian, Austrian, Greek, Danish, Finnish, Icelandic, Norwegian and Swedish passports bearers do not need a Transit Visa (G Visa) if they transit via SHANGHAI and staying for

less than 48 hours (going out of the airport is allowed).

8. C- Visa:for Train Attendants,Air Crew Members and Seamen

Requirements:

l       One completely filled out Visa Application Form

l       One recent passport-size photo. Please stick the photo to the application form.

l       Original passport with at least 2 blank visa pages

l       The application will be dealt in accordance with the mutual agreement. An invitation letter from the relevant department of the Chinese Government is required when there is no agreement or when the application is not within the agreement.

NOTES:

Train Attendants, Air Crew Members and Seamen to visit China for touring or a family visit should apply for another L-visa despite the validities of their C-visas.

9.some advices in applying for Chinese Visa

Applicants are reminded to pay attention to the following:

l       Please arrange your travel to China properly before submitting your visa application. Applicants are required to fill in the Visa Application Form completely and correctly, especially the utmost duration of each stay and intended number of entries.

l       Consuls will make the final decision on categories, number of entries validity and duration of stay according to laws and regulations.

l       Applicants have the responsibility to check the contents of visas, and report to consuls when doubts aroused.

l       All Danish citizens should have valid visas when they enter China. Please check if the visas are valid and have enough number of entries. Applicants should reapply for visas if the visas in the passport are invalid or number of entries is not enough.

l       An applicant born in China who is applying for a Chinese visa with his or her new foreign passport is required to submit his or her Chinese passport or last foreign passport.

l       A child of Chinese descent who was born abroad and applies for a Chinese visa for the first time is required to submit his or her Birth Certificate and foreign passport or foreign permanent residence permit of one of his or her parents.

l       All foreign citizens should not stay in China beyond the duration of stay permitted.

10.Learn about "Validity of Visa, Entries of visa and Duration of each stay".

 

l       Validity of Visa (Enter before) means that you may use the visa to enter China before 12:00am on the date printed on the visa if there is enough number of entries. Visas become invalid and can not be extended after the date of Enter Before even if there are Entries left. Chinese visas come into effect on the date of issuance and are generally valid for 3 months, and up to 24 months from the date of application. Applicants should arrange the entry date in advance and apply for visas before their departure date. Visa may become invalid if you apply for the visa earlier than 2 months before entry date. You may not have enough time to apply for the visa if you do it later than 2 weeks. Applicants should apply for their visas before the purchase of air tickets. They should take all responsibility if they decide to change their journey and the visas become invalid.

 

l       Entries of Visa  means the number of entries permitted while visa is valid. Visas become invalid after the applicants fully use the entries permitted, which can not be added or changed. Visa becomes invalid if it goes beyond the date of Enter Before even if there are some entries left.

 

l       Duration of Each Stay after Entry means the longest period the applicants are permitted to stay in China. Duration of Each Stay is counted from the date of entry. Applicants should apply for an extension of the duration at a local county level Public Security Bureau if he or she stays in China longer than the Duration of Each Stay printed on the visa.Z, J-1, D and X visa holders should apply for residence permits at local Public Security Bureaus no later than 30 days after their arrival in China. Otherwise, they become illegal residents.

11. Requirements of the applicants' passport validity and blank pages:

A.There are at least two blank pages in the passport

B. The validity of the passport must be long enough covering the period of validity of the visa plus the period of duration to be applied. For instance, if the applicant applies for a single entry visa and for the duration of 90 days, then the validity of the passport must be longer than 6 months (the validity of the visa of 3 months plus the duration of 90 days.)

13.Applicants should take responsibilities in the following cases:

l       Visa application forms have not been completely and correctly filled out;

l       Visas became invalid because the applicants applied for the visas more than 2 months before their entry dates.

l       Visas are not ready before the departure dates due to the delay in visa applications;

l       Visas become invalid because the applicants change their entry dates.

l       Visas have not been carefully checked while being picked up and some errors are found afterwards;

l       Applicants are refused to enter China or even to get on the planes heading for China because the validity and number of entries are not correct;

l        Categories and Duration of Each Stay of the visa have not been properly checked and applicants have been in China beyond the permitted period.
